Alla grave emergenza provocata dal coronavirus si aggiunge la tragedia dei naufragi in mare, l’ultimo avvenuto nel giorno di Pasqua. Fermiamo questa barbarie! Gli immigrati in arrivo sulle nostre coste vanno accolti, garantendo loro la sicurezza e le cure necessarie. Tutta l’umanità è colpita da questa drammatica emergenza sanitaria, che per tanti nostri simili, si aggiunge a una condizione già difficile.

We are experiencing a pandemic which is questioning humanity whereever it may be found. The emergency is becoming worse because there aren’t enough beds in hospitals which have been devastated by government policy causing the present risk that many will not be able to be saved.

Dear brothers and sisters, as we all know, we are going through a delicate moment and not only in this country, due to the Coronavirus epidemic. This is not the first nor the last emergency that we have faced in our lives or that we will have to face in the future. Sometimes, everyday life far away from home, together with immigration under complicated conditions, call for us to be strong. It is precisely now when we should showcase the human strength we have. We can learn to be more wise and careful when looking after each other.
